26th Extended European Cosmic Ray Symposium
and 35th Russian Cosmic Ray Conference

The 26th Extended European Cosmic Ray Symposium (E+CRS 2018) in conjunction with 35th Russian Cosmic Ray Conference (RCRC 2018) will be held at the Altai State University (Barnaul - Belokurikha - Altai Mountains, Russia) on July 6 - 10, 2018.

The joint conference is organized by the Altai State University (Barnaul, Russia) in cooperation with Skobeltsyn Institute of Nuclear Physics, Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia), Max Planck Institute for Physics (Munich, Germany) and Novosibirsk State University (Novosibirsk, Russia).

The main topics of the conference are following: Cosmic Ray Physics, Gamma-Ray Astronomy, Neutrino Astronomy, Dark Matter Physics, Solar and Heliospheric Physics, Astroparticle Physics Theory and Models and Experimental Methods, Techniques and Instrumentation.

Abstract Submission

  • For abstract submission, please register at the official website of the joint conference (https://ecrs18.asu.ru) and then follow the steps described in the Call for Abstracts section.

  • The starting date for abstract submission is December 20, 2017 and it last until February 20, 2018.

  • The abstracts should be submitted under one of the classifications described in Scientific Program (see below).

  • The abstracts should contain all relevant information on the contribution. They are the sole basis for the acceptance of the contribution as oral or poster by the scientific program committee. The size of an abstract should be 5-15 lines (in no case exceeding 25 lines).

Payment of the registration fee can be made by bank transfer or on-site. To pay by bank transfer, it is necessary to download and fill out the Agreement in 2 copies, to send a scan copy of this Agreement to the LOC (ecrs18@asu.ru), and then make the payment upon confirmation. Please remember to specify the Remittance Information precisely as in the Agreement when paying by bank transfer!

A conference dinner will be held during the conference (not included in the registration fee) and will take place in Belokurikha. There will be a cost of EUR35 (or the equivalent amount in Russian Rubles) per person for this dinner.

Financial Support

A limited amount of funds will be available for financial support to participants who make a request. This support will consist in a partial or a total waving of the registration fee. Priority will be given to PhD students and postdocs. If you wish to apply for financial support, please send motivated request before Feb 20, 2018 to e-mail: ecrs18@asu.ru.

Other important information

Visa Support

If it is necessary to have a visa for entering the Russian Federation from the country of your citizenship, you need to obtain an invitation letter from the hosting institution.

For this, please fill up an application form and send it together with the copy of your international passport to ecrs18@asu.ru (please, use the subject “Visa invitation request”).

PLEASE NOTE!!! For some countries the procedure of making an invitation and receiving a visa can take up to a month and a half. Please, take into account this time when planning your trip.

Travel

Arrival to the International Airport of Barnaul is the most preferable for easy and comfortable travel for those participants who travel with the intermediate stop in Moscow. Four direct 4-hour flights from/to Moscow (Domodedovo, Sheremetievo) are available every day.

The nearest major international airport hub is Novosibirsk/Tolmachevo(~270 km from the conference venue). Direct flights from/to Dubai, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, Prague, Seoul, Beijing, Hong Kong, Istanbul are available once or twice a week.

Transfer from/to nearest airports will be provided by Organizers.

Climate

The weather at this part of the year varies from hot to rather cool, requiring at most a light jacket. Temperatures during the day range between 15C to 30C. Accommodation

The beginning of the conference (opening ceremony, plenary session, poster sessions and starting of the sections) will be held on July 6-8, 2018 at the Altai State University in the city of Barnaul.

The next part of the conference (July, 8-10) will be held at the resort Belokurikha (~200 km from Barnaul). Transfer Barnaul-Belokurikha-Barnaul will be organized by the LOC (included in the registration fee).

The Organizing Committee carries out preliminary booking and will assist in arranging accommodation both in Barnaul and in Belokurikha upon the request of participants.

A sufficient number of 2, 3 and 4-star hotels are located within the walking distance to the conference venue in Barnaul.

Social Program

The Organizers plan to arrange sightseeing tours and a cultural program in Barnaul-city, Belokurikha and Mountain Altai. The social program is partially included in the registration fee. There will be additional tours available upon the request of participants and requiring additional payment.

Altai is located in the geographical center of the Eurasia, in the southeast of Western Siberia and it is a famous natural UNESCO World Heritage Site, one of the world’s most valuable areas of biological diversity, historical and cultural heritage and ecological tourism.

Belokurikha – the main spa resort of the Altai - is successfully operating Siberian center of congress tourism. Dozens of conferences, symposiums, exhibitions, meetings, seminars, etc. are annually held here. In the active use are here the techniques of treatment based on local natural material: honey, herbs, therapeutic muds, live-stock products. Much attention is paid to short-term treatment programs that are in demand among socially active business people. All conditions are created here for treatment, health-improving and recreation activities.
